Samui Yacht Club Hotel
Samui Yacht Club
is between Chaweng and Lamai beach at Tongtakian bay,
these pics were taken during the Monsoon season and so do not do it
justice.
It has a secluded beach shared by just four small hotels, but not much
night-life.
The standard bungalow rooms are large, with TV, AC, well equipped fridge, hot
water, hair dryer, safe etc.
The rooms are surrounded by tropical bamboo and coconut palm jungle.
You also have your own patio
It has a swimming pool, bar and restaurant.
You can hire a jeep for 800 Baht a day and easily go round the island in a
day.
If you want quietness, seclusion and privacy, then this is not a bad
choice.
Although breakfast was included, I used to go to
Big Rock
restaurant and enjoy the view there.
Also at Tongtakian Bay there is
Crystal Bay Resort and
Restaurant, which has a nice view of the bay.
A nice restaurant is
First
Viewpoint, a mile up the road towards Chaweng beach

My general advice: get a bungalow rather than a hotel
room.
Western food is OK, but it is pricey, and not well done,
Learn to eat Thai food, it is cheaper and better prepared,
it can be a bit hot, but like most things it is an acquired taste.
