Is this a forgery of SG 129? Corner letters CJ
Compare this to the issued stamp SG 129 The nearest I have seen to this is a Prince Albert "stamp" in the
R M Phillips collection
You can see the original stamp with corner letters CJ as issued in this pane from the R M Phiillip's collection. It has a "1" not an "ornament".
Image source British Postal Museum from the R M Phillips Collection. Voll XXXVI Pg 34. It could be an unissued 1 Pound (SG 184 ?), compare with the 10/- of 1883 (SG 183) which does have an ornament. I have not found any evidence for this from the R M Phillips collection |
