This is South of Monument Valley and North of Kayenta, Arizona
Since I first saw it in 1995, I have had a strange fascination with this rock. I have already seen the wonders of Monument Valley as I drive South on Hwy 163, then I see this rock. It is almost like the home of the wicked witch from a Walt Disney movie who lives at the top. Sure, I understand it has volcanic origin. It towers 1,500 ft above me. In 2004 I stop my car to pay homage, once again this rock has lured me with its magic. I cannot explain why, but this rock has a hold on my heart, maybe this is relic of the wizards and goblins of my childhood?
